Boat Ride in Bentota River
It was an amazing day for another adventure here in My Sri Lanka Holidays . I was ready for another journey to the area called Bentota. Bentota is a coastal area to the south side of Sri Lanka where Benthara River meets the ocean. I took my traveling guide book to see whether there are any good places to visit in this area before moving to Galle. Luckily I found a wonderful bay like place near to Aluthgama area. I contacted my tour operator to get more information about the area and guess what they provided with me all the information I was waiting for. I wanted to go on a boat ride in the Bentota River. They called me back with good news saying my request will be fulfilled. I was so glad to hear the news and I prepared myself for the trip. When the clock strike 10.00 in the morning my tour operator came with a water guide to the little hotel I was in. “Am I glad to see you” I said, knowing it was going to be another awsome day in holidays to sri lanka

Riding in to The Wild |
We drove about a mile to get to the beach where a dock was located in. I was escorted to motor boat over there. We started our journey at about 10.30 AM from Bentota into the far side of the river. It felt amazing to be on this boat. We took some turns around the bend and passed the Bentota main bridge. After a while the guide slowed down the boat. I was puzzled with the whole situation and asked him why. Then he pointed a nearby stone bench in the middle of the river. It was a huge crocodile or an alligator. It was a dread full sight for me. After a while we started moving forward into the river where a huge infestation of almanac mangroves. It was like riding into the Amazon. After about 15 minutes we came out of the jungle back to the river. He stopped again for a moment near another little boat where I got the chance to touch and feel crocodile babies. I must say that it was an amazing experience I had in my Sri Lanka Holidays . We went back to the shore around 1.30pm and I had lunch in the hotel.
