My next trip was to Galle. I
decided to ditch the luxury for a while. So the very next day I informed my
tour operator that I don’t want any transportation to Galle. They cancelled the
cab reserved only for me. I took some maps and guide books from a store nearby and
decided to travel by train to Galle. This is another adventure in my Sri LankaHolidays . I was excited from the start.
The very next day I went to
Aluthgama railway station early in the morning in order to catch the train to
Galle. It was almost 8.05 AM when the train arrived, luckily I bought tickets
and I got on to the train. It was already full. I was bit disappointed with the
luggage I was carrying with, until a generous local offered me a seat. I
decided to shift with him time to time. The train was a semi-express and it
stopped in every hall till Ambalangoda. After Ambalangoda it was express and
went directly to Galle. It was an tiring journey. For a moment I thought that I
should have taken the cab. But it was only until I saw beautiful scenarios along
the way in the coastal belt. The train was so close to the sea, I saw many
fishing boats and it was like riding with the sea. After 2.30 hours, we reached
Galle train station. I got down from the train and went directly to the canteen
in the station and had a wonderful Sri Lanka tea. Then I went it the washroom
to get myself fresh. There after I came out to catch a tuk tuk to the hotel I
booked. Luckily there were few around for me to get and within 5 minutes I was
at the hotel. I unpacked my stuff thinking about what to do next in my SriLanka tours in Galle.
Hi, this blog is really instructive. I would like to know more about this.
